Casting details are announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s (RSC) 2021 summer outdoor production of  The Comedy of Errors  which runs between 13 July – 26 September in the  Lydia & Manfred Gorvy Garden Theatre  in Stratford-upon-Avon.  This specially constructed outdoor performance space is located in the Swan Theatre Gardens, flanked by the River Avon and overlooked by the Swan Theatre.   

The Walt Disney Company UK and Ireland  has today announced that London’s landmark musical,  DISNEY’S THE LION KING  will reopen in the West End on 29th July 2021.

One of the all-time greatest musicals ANYTHING GOES is making a welcome return to the London stage in spring and summer 2021 for a strictly limited 15 week engagement at the Barbican Theatre, starring Emmy & SAG Award Winner Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) who is making her West End musical debut as Reno Sweeney, and Tony, Olivier & BAFTA Award Winner Robert Lindsay as Moonface Martin. This splendid production of Cole Porter & P.G. Wodehouse’s classic musical will be directed and choreographed by three time Tony Award Winner Kathleen Marshall . Marshall’s Broadway production of ANYTHING GOES was a major smash hit and received huge critical acclaim.  The revival was nominated for nine Tony Awards and 10 Drama Desk Awards, winning Best Musical Revival and Best Choreography at both ceremonies. Joining the stellar cast of  The Understudy , which will once again raise funds for the UK’s theatre industry, is Matthew Horne, Emily Atack, Adelayo Adedayo, Lucy Briggs-Owen,  and Jake Ferretti.  A perfect pre-Christmas treat for theatre lovers, this exclusive semi-staged rehearsed reading of  The Understudy  will run for two nights only at London’s Palace Theatre .

Shakespeare’s Globe is delighted to announce the summer season 2020 will include Shakespeare’s  Romeo & Juliet ,  Much Ado About Nothing ,  Twelfth Night ,  Antony & Cleopatra , a two-day event ‘ Globe 4 Globe: Shakespeare and Climate Emergency’ , a symposium  ‘Shakespeare and Race’ , a Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of  Macbeth  with 20,000 free tickets to school children, the return of  family festival ‘Telling Tales’ , and a new dramatisation of  Ovid’s  Metamorphoses  by our resident writers .

Shakespeare’s Globe is delighted to announce full casting for the next two productions opening in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in February:  The Taming of the Shrew , directed by  Maria Gaitanidi , and Thomas Middleton’s  Women Beware Women , directed by  Amy Hodge .

Olivier nominee Rachel Tucker (‘Come From Away’, ‘Wicked’), ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winner Jai McDowall and Matthew Pagan from Collabro are to headline a star-studded charity gala performance of Boublil And Schönberg’s ‘The Pirate Queen’ at the London Coliseum on Sunday 23 February, 2020, with proceeds going to Leukaemia UK.

The Jamie Lloyd Company, the hugely successful partnership between the UK’s leading theatre company Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) and Artistic Director Jamie Lloyd , today announces Golden Globe and Olivier Award nominated James McAvoy is to lead the company of Edmond Rostand ’s Cyrano de Bergerac , freely adapted by Martin Crimp . The production marks the first in a new season directed by Jamie Lloyd at the Playhouse Theatre from November 2019 to August 2020. Further productions to be announced.

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT , the brand-new stage musical with music and lyrics by  Stephen Schwartz  ( Wicked, Godspell ) and a book by  Philip LaZebnik  ( Mulan ,  Pocahontas ) and based on the celebrated DreamWorks Animation film, today announces initial casting for its West End premiere production.   Luke Brady  and  Liam Tamne  will lead the cast as ‘Moses’ and ‘Ramses’ respectively, with  Christine Allado  as ‘Tzipporah’ and  Alexia Khadime  as ‘Miriam’. From the parents of ThePlay That Goes Wrong comes a brand-new comedy all about growing up. Are wethe same people at 30 as we were at 13? Does school life determine our future?Do we ever grow out of our school crush? Playing an unruly classroom of kids andanarchic high school teenagers, through to the aches and pains of adulthood,the original Mischief company are back in the West End with their first newplay since 2016.

Shakespeare’s Globe is delighted to announce the Summer Season 2019. Celebrating and interrogating our ‘sceptred isle’ through Shakespeare’s history plays, a year-long journey begins with Richard II, opening 22 February in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse , continuing into the Globe Theatre this summer with Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and Henry V. The season also includes A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Ben Jonson’s Bartholomew Fair, and the return of 2018’s As You Like It. Robin Hood tales will form the core of the Read Not Dead series this year, and festivals throughout the summer include Women & Power and Poland is Hamlet. This year’s Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production will be Romeo and Juliet, opening on 28 February, with 20,000 free tickets available to state secondary schools. The Shakespeare’s Globe Touring Ensemble will once again present a trio of plays for the audience to choose from: The Comedy of Errors, Pericles, and Twelfth Night.

As rehearsals begin, casting is announced for the West End transfer of the National Theatre and Theatr Clwyd’s critically acclaimed co-production of Home, I’m Darling , a new play by Laura Wade , directed by Theatre Clwyd Artistic Director Tamara Harvey , featuring Katherine Parkinson , which begins performances at the Duke of York’s Theatre on 26 January.

With Spamilton: An American Parody recently extending its run at the theatre, the Menier Chocolate Factory today announces initial casting for their major revival of Hugh Whitemore ’s Pack of Lies . Hannah Chissick directs Finty Williams as Barbara Jackson and Jasper Britton as Stewart. The production opens on 1 October, with previews from 20 September, and runs until 17 November. The full company will be announced shortly.

In 1983, Adam Walsh went missing from a Hollywood shopping mall and quickly became the most famous missing child in American history. In 2017, a man called Adam Welsh googled himself and found Adam Walsh. This incident prompted him to write an intriguing semi-autobiographical debut solo show There but for the grace of God (go I) which runs for a limited number of performances this August.
